![]() ![]() these settings make jRiver sound very musical and enjoyable as compared to stock foobar. JRivers 50 media center software is unique among all of the aforementioned solutions, in that it uses the same basic structure as Microsofts stock Media Center software, but expands upon the. With stock settings both sound same (to me) but in JRiver if you do the following:Ģ) DSP Studio>Effects>Environment>Recording Studioģ) DSP Studio>Effects>Environment>Virtual Subwoofer>6"(or whatever you like)Ĥ) DSP Studio>Effects>Environment>Surround Field>Maximum Enhancement (or whatever you like) Audiophiles, reviewers, manufacturers, dealers and anyone interested in audio and music are welcome here Let us know about your favorite speakers, amplifiers, turntables, DACs and music. ![]() It sometimes ends up playing video files are not playable even in VLC and this actually blew my mind! ![]() It probably makes no difference in real world usage. At the end of the day you need to compare and try different software setups. Jriver is trying to satisfy a broad band market of needs whereas Xxhighend is all about the quality of sound. all of the others, including the 'BASS AUDIO' library ones are low detail crap with truncation issues. JRiver on the other hand is a very vast audio/video player with many features (I barely use any) but I like the fact that they have a 64 bit version and I could not find any audio 64 bit player. Gosh havnt heard the latest Jriver but in the day when comparing to XXhighend, XXhighend easily beat it in sound quality. jriver is the only media player that can achieve a daw output sound quality with a good third party dither plugin that will cost you 20-50 dollars or about 100-200 if its included in a limiter. Foobar I will say is second best as it is very light on resources/is very snappy if used without skins/tweaks. I have both installed but end up using jRiver more than foobar. Check for the converted Tidal music from the Converted folder on your computer and then drag and drop them to JRiver Media Center. ![]()
